The LD 31 EVA participates in the improvement and protection of animal health. By ensuring the detection of animal diseases, we guarantee the health safety of citizens and help to promote intra-community trade and exports.

The intervention scope of the LD 31 EVA covers a wide spectrum of analyzes: diagnosis, screening during collective prophylaxis, surveillance plans, livestock certification, animal’s health controls (estives, introductions, Sales, purchases, exports, contests, etc.) of diseases legally considered contagious and / or important to the agricultural economy and / or contagious to humans.

SCREENING OF ANIMAL DISEASES

As an expert in animal health, the LD 31 EVA ensures the detection of:

Regulated diseases, some of which are transmissible to humans(*):

QUALIFICATION OF HERDS AND ANIMAL PROPHYLAXIS

Our animal health specialists will accompany you and advise you on the type of analysis that should be performed and the interpretation of the results.

For several years now, the Departmental Council of Haute-Garonne has been helping livestock keepers through a total or partial support of analyze according to the contexts (prophylaxis, purchases, export, repopulation of palmipeds following the avian crisis).

VETERINARY DIAGNOSTICS ASSISTANCE

The LD 31 EVA provides diagnosis assistance through the following services:

Autopsies;
Microbiological analyzes (bacteriology, virology, mycology);
Parasitology, including the implementation of an experiment conducted on Haute-Garonne farms in order to optimize the use of pest control treatments;
Antimicrobial susceptibility tests.

Focus on

Molecular biology

The LD 31 EVA has developed a state-of-the-art molecular biology tool: polymerase chain reaction (PCR). For this, we are equipped with a fleet of 5 thermocyclers. We intervene therfor in the framework of real time screening realizing a diagnosis by PCR (detection of the nucleic acid).
